Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪 Hope you're doing awesome! This is the first Newsletter I have sent out so I hope this finds you well. I Just wanted to drop some cool AI stuff I found online into your inbox this week. I have a couple of things I'm pretty stoked I found in the world of AI. Tech's doing some exciting things, shaping our digital world in cool ways.

• Bing Chat now has many of the features ChatGPT Plus has, which you can use for free, Web Search, Vision, Voice, Plugins, GPT-4

• Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain implant startup, quietly raises an additional $43M

• Elon Musk says xAI’s chatbot ‘Grok’ will launch to all X Premium+ Subscribers within the next week

• Sam Altman returned as CEO of OpenAI one week after being on his ouster

• Forget Siri. Turn your iPhone’s ‘Action Button’ into a ChatGPT voice assistant instead. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Voice feature is now available to all free users, you can ditch Siri as your main voice assistant on your iPhone — well, specifically on your iphone 15 pro max, that is. Apple’s latest smartphones support the ability to configure the new Action Button, which replaces the mute button that has been on the iPhone since its debut. Via a new Settings menu, users can turn the button to other uses beyond silencing their ringer.

• US chip export ban is hurting China’s AI startups. Chinese tech giants, anticipating a tech war with the U.S. had been stockpiling high-performance graphic processing units (GPUs) from Nvidia. Baidu, among others, secured enough AI chips to train its Ernie Bot for the next couple of years, but smaller AI players without such resources may have to settle for less powerful processors or await potential acquisition opportunities as the industry moves into a "consolidation stage.

• California’s privacy watchdog eyes AI rules with opt-out and access rights. California's Privacy Protection Agency is creating rules for AI, focusing on automated decisionmaking technology (ADMT). Inspired by the EU's GDPR, these rules aim to give residents control over their data use in automation and AI. Expected next year, they position California as a global leader in AI regulation.

• 2 former Apple employees revealed an AI Pin that they say will stop all of the scrolling from modern day phones.

📌 A New Way Of Learning

Whilst scouring the internet for the latest news about AI, I stumbled across something that I could not take my eye’s away from. “2 hour learning”. Intrigued I dove deep into what they were all about and to my surprise they actually looked pretty legit.

I have been monitoring Alpha Schools Instagram page for the past few months and love what they are in the midst of creating. 

Now what do they do? It's a special private school that is still in its early stages of development and is currently based out in Austin, Texas, with plans to expand to 10 more locations within the next 2 years.

Picture this – no traditional teachers, just AI. Yes, you heard that right. AI takes the lead in teaching at this school and the only human ‘teachers’ they have is what they call guides, whose job is to motivate, inspire and encourage students. This turns out to work quite well because each student uses an AI that crafts a learning experience to meet their specific needs.

The best part about using AI is that the students only sit down and learn for 2 hours per day or 25 minutes per subject (depending on the age this varies) because they are getting such great education from the AI that teaches them 1 on 1 and the guides that are there to guide them just like a mentor. They have found that learning for this short period of time boosts the students motivation to learn and also the kids here supposedly learn twice as fast, according to their MAP tests they take 3 times per year. And here's the cool part – the rest of the day is all about jumping into the real world, and getting hands-on experience.

Using AI to teach students is extremely powerful. They claim that their students get perfect or near perfect scores on their SATs and score in the top 2% of students in the U.S.A. just from 2 hours of sit-down learning per day

They are able to have so much free time because of AI. They are leveraging AI to teach their students 1 on 1 which is turning out to be extremely effective.

Is it about time for a schooling change? Here is a timeline showing how school has advanced through the generations:

• 3000 BC: The first formal schools are established in ancient Egypt.

• 2000 BC: Schools are established in Mesopotamia (region in Iraq).

• 500 BC: Schools are established in Greece.

• 600 BC: Schools are established in China.

• 12th century: Universities are established in Europe.

• 18th century: Public schools are established in many countries.

• 19th century: Formal education becomes universal in many countries 

The future of education is being reformed, we are getting better and better at understanding how we can leverage AI to benefit society. Exciting times ahead!

❤️ My Favourite AI Tools this Week

1. 🎨 Scribble Defusion - Create stunning, hyper realistic images from your hand drawn sketches.

2. 📕 Plaud Note - The first ever ChatGPT powered recorder that takes notes automatically for you on the go. If you want to save time in meetings or at your desk and you want to save time automating this, an AI voice recorder will record and transcribe your calls into text, to do lists, and mind maps.

3. 🤖 Hints AI - An AI tool that allows you to automate things by texting whatever task you want it to do on your phone and/or laptop. The web version of this tool does cost money but is only $7 which is a great price for the value you get. Otherwise, you can get it for Free on your Phone. Downloading this app will allow you to have your own personal assistant at your fingertips to complete the tasks that you request.

4. 🎥 RunwayML - RunwayML has just released a new Motion Brush feature that is unreal. Here is a video just to show how crazy it is:
